Let me tell you a story
To quote the great Durmand, founder of the Durmand Priory and renowned Krytan historian: “Let me tell you a story.”

On the date 61 Phoenix 1334 AE, three friends decided to meet at the Crow's Nest Tavern in Lions Arch. All three, one by one, had but mere days before made the difficult decision to leave behind what they once considered home for years. Their story was not unlike the Exodus of the Norn from Gunnar's Hold a few centuries earlier — a darkness had taken hold of their home, and even though they tried to fight it, it became clear there was no other option but to leave, in the hope of starting anew somewhere else.
So there they sat, at a big round table with many more empty chairs than filled. What the future would bring was uncertain. However, one thing they were all sure about: it cannot end here.
They decided to start anew — a new guild! An exciting thought, but also pretty intimidating. None of them had ever started from scratch. But then they realised that all it should take is courage, compassion, empathy, justice and cunning.
So there they sat, but no longer at a nearly empty table — at the cradle of EoL. They named themselves the Envoys of the Lost, a poetic description of what they needed at that time: a guide through the darkness. It is here that our tale began, a tale which fate eventually crossed with yours.
Ahai, hero! You are an Envoy.
&w=3840&q=75)
By joining us you have dedicated yourself to being a pillar of strength, a beacon of hope, a light in the darkness — to those lost or wandering without aim in Tyria. Life is to be enjoyed to the fullest, not spent in service to the enjoyment of others.
Our guild has a vision to ensure this for each and every one of us, active leaders and quiet members alike — we all deserve the same. Many of you will have faced betrayal of trust before, and know what it is like to leave everything behind with no clear future ahead.
We ask you to bring your knowledge of all the good you have witnessed, to help us build the ultimate haven for all those who walked the same path. A new age dawns; may we be the ones at its cradle.
Welcome, Envoy!

The founders of this guild had a simple vision: a guild in which people could be themselves, play how they want to, and feel appreciated in whatever style they want to enjoy the world of Tyria. It's based on a few simple principles: empathy, compassion, patience, freedom and realism. This is a game, and we should enjoy it as such.
The moment people feel stress over having to perform to a certain level, it stops being enjoyable — and history has proven that this is ultimately unviable. Guilds that push their members and leadership beyond their limits end up destroying themselves. The founders experienced this firsthand in their previous guild, which led them to say enough.
The vision for EoL remains the same: everyone must feel included. Toxicity, stress and pressure do not fit in a game that's supposed to be just that — a game. Those who want to help build on that vision are welcome to do so; those who just want to enjoy what we offer are equally welcome.
More than a distraction
&w=3840&q=75)
Many of us have formed bonds with one another that transcend in-game relations — shared multiple aspects of our lives, laughed, and sometimes even cried together. It's things like this that make a game worth more than just a distraction from daily stress: actual friendships are formed.
As a reference to this, and to the circumstances under which this guild was founded, we chose to call ourselves Envoys. To those who wish it, we can be a lifeline through dark times, and a companion through the good ones.
As an Envoy, we expect nothing more of you than to respect these values and uphold them towards others. Should disputes arise, every party will have the opportunity to be heard.
The road ahead
&w=3840&q=75)
We are a young guild and the road ahead is still long. We invite each and every one of you to join us in making it bigger and better as we go along. We hope you'll feel as happy to be with us as we feel honoured to have you.
We believe in open communication — you should always feel free to voice any concerns, in an equally open and non-aggressive way. If you have questions, ask in guild chat, Discord, or by contacting any officer directly. An immediate answer can't be guaranteed, but we'll always get back to you as soon as possible.
